We ship to the EU, but since Brexit, orders from the UK to the EU are treated as imports. Here’s what to expect.
Who charges what
- Our checkout price is ex-duties: it does not include EU import VAT or customs charges.
- On (or before) delivery, the carrier in the destination country collects import VAT and sometimes a handling fee from the recipient.
- These charges are set by your country’s customs authority, not by Fernback, and we can’t waive or refund them.
Why my order had an extra charge
If you were asked to pay a fee to your courier before they’d release the parcel, that’s the destination country’s import VAT plus the carrier’s handling fee. It’s normal for EU orders and is separate from what you paid us at checkout.
Roasted coffee has no customs duty in most EU countries, but import VAT still applies.
